The history of the school dates back to June 22, 2001, when it was initially established as the "Information Technology Group" under Naresuan University Phayao Information Campus. In its early stages, the school offered only one academic program, namely the Business Computer program.
In the year 2002 (2545 B.E.), the faculty underwent a name change to become the "School of Information and Communication Technology" and expanded its academic offerings to include two additional programs: Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Then, in the academic year 2007-2008 (2550 B.E. - 2551 B.E.), the school further expanded its curriculum by adding two more programs: Information Technology and Geographic Information Science.
The faculty has continuously evolved, adapting to the changing landscape of information technology and communication. The establishment and expansion of academic programs demonstrate the commitment to providing students with a diverse and comprehensive education in the field.
